Lurch: T45 Gosshawk
With Laser's first attempt at MSFX after many months and our visit to the NAS, we reviewed and implemented Carrier Operations just off shore from Pensacola NAS. In FSX you can place a carrier anywhere in the world, even by mistake.
We both took off from Pensacola NAS, established a Carrier in the Gulf and successfully Trapped.
We then worked out the Catapult procedures and successfully launched from the Virtual Nimitz.
(Saw a guy on the Deck Crew that looked like Scooter)
We then landed back at NAS and taxied up to the Warbirds parked outside at the Naval Museum.
Very Cool.
Catapult procedure is briefly as follows:
-Taxi (or Slew) up to Launch Arm on the Deck
-Lower (Toggle) Launch Bar
-Arm (Toggle) Take-Off Assist
(Launch Arm on Deck grabs AC Launch Bar locks AC in place and Blast Barrier comes up)
-Give a notch of flaps and Full Power
-Toggle the Take Off Assist Trigger (Not same function as Chocks/Brakes)
Fires the Catapult and you are off.
