End of an ERA?

Post by widowmakr » Thu Dec 29, 2016 4:59 pm

Unfortunately my participation with the 16th has come to an end for the time being. My wonderful Internet provider Frontier Communications has cut my speed to 1mb max!! This is unacceptable for any type of gaming and thus put an end to my participation. I am not even able to connect to Steam at this time! I will hopefully get this resolve in the near future but Cable is not available in my area and I have no idea if satellite based service will work or not. Anybody have any idea? It has been my utmost honor and pleasure to have flown with the 16th and look forward to the day I can reconnect. :frown:

Hi Widow,

Didn't realize you had Frontier way out there. That's a common Western Pa provider.
Sorry to hear that. Dealt with that for years. I'll save you some time. Satellite will not work for any type of gaming. Too much lag.
Hope things get worked out. Another thing you might try is a complaint to the FCC or Ohio State Attorney General's office, U.S, Attorney's Office.
Good luck.

Hopefully you can work something out! Do you have good cell coverage? You may be able to use a cellular hotspot if you do for flying. Just don't download big files and use up all the data.

Well the fight with Frontier has reached a stalemate. I will be disconnecting from them and probably getting Satellite service. So it has been fun but I am afraid all good things must come to an end. So until an acceptable alternative can be put in place I will be unable to fly. I can play Arma for now but that will probably fade when we go to Satellite. Broadband in my area is just no longer available
