Debrief 08/07/17: Attack on Florida Island

Lurch - A-20 Havoc
Vball - Turret Gunner (in Lurch's Havoc)
So Monday night a few hours after leaving the hospital for surgery, of course Vball was in the Pilot’s station, so we flew some IL-2. I was driving an A-20 Havoc armed with 22” torpedoes and Vball took up the Top Turret seat, with a pair of 50 cals.
We launched an attack on Florida Island, from Henderson Field, Guadalcanal. Japanese carriers in the east and west launched fighters on patrol.
We encountered 6 Japanese Zeros and Jim Flamed 4 out of the 6. The other 2 Zeros were shot down by AI pilots. Not bad for the first time in a Gun Turret. Actually Fantastic. From now on Vball is riding with me.
Vball, if anybody else tries to talk you into gunning for them, tell them my plane has Air Conditioning and leather seats. Vball, You're The Man.
