Debrief 12/4/16: Midway and the Doolittle Raid

The 16th took off from Midway in F4U-1c Corsairs, from Midway in an attempt to stop a Japanese invasion. In the past, we have tried to immediately engage the Zeros. This time we went directly in pursuit of the Kate Bombers and shot down numerous aircraft, all the way back to Midway. Lurch collided with a damaged bomber and lost a wing. Laser lost engine power and ditched near Midway.


We later flew the Doolittle Raid, flying A-20's from the Enterprise. We successfully penetrated Japanese airspace and bombed Kyushu and landed at an enemy base that we bombed and captured.
