The 16th attacked forces on Paleio Island, with Laser and Lurch flying Corsairs. In the 2nd Mission series, the 16th launched a land based attack from Jefferson Field, on the northern coast of Guadalcanal, against enemy forces on Florida Island. There was much enemy A-A resistance, Submarine AA guns and heavy ground fire. Laser flew a B-25 Mitchell, with Lurch as Turret Gunner. Debrief 05/15/16: Carrier Ops -North Korea
Sniper flew escort in the F4U-1C Corsair. As is often the case, we did not make it back.
