Debrief 10/2/15: IL2-1946 - Africa Ops

The 16th Tigers launched an attack from an airbase in northern Africa, against a German Airbase along the coast. We flew Hawker Tempest V-2's with 4- 20mm cannons and (2) 1000lb bombs. The Tempest is a very fast, rugged aircraft with a lot of firepower. A flight of BF-109's was encountered and although, we were outnumbered, we destroyed many of them and numerous vehicles and aircraft on the ground. But, we all didn't make it back.
