Debrief 03/22/2015: IL-2 Guadal Canal Ops

The 16th conducted operations from Henderson field to attack enemy emplacements on Florida Island.
Pilots were:
Laser
Lurch
Vball

Laser flew a Corsair. Vball and Lurch took turns Driving/Gunning in the A-20 Havoc. Vball gunned down at least 3 Zeros. We encountered Zeroes on every trip and never made it to Florida Island.

On the final flight, Lurch was about to drop on the enemy Carrier, with Vball, high above and to the rear.Vball had dropped to practice bombs. Lurch's A-20 exploded into pieces. Sim stated that VBALL killed Lurch. Laser and Vball eventually sunk the carrier.

ACMI revealed that Vball's practice bombs fell in the water far behind Lurch about a minute before Lurch's plane exploded. Damage modeling was unbelievable. Good Fun.
