Azazel's Campaign 5/25/12

[16th Azazel]

Mission was a fighter sweep that was going extremely well. The flight took off from Kunsan and proceed north to the DMZ. All flight conditions were VFR. Near the DMZ the flight encountered Mig-23s, Mig-17s, and Mig-19s. No surface to airthreats fired on the flight but several SA-2, SA-3, SA-13, and AAA spikes were observed. Numerous enemy aircraft were destroyed over the course of about 40 to 50 minutes of flying back and forth between the flight's BARCAP waypoints. At the end of the mission all aircraft were down to 1 x AIM-120 each and we ended up about 20 miles north of the FLOT (DMZ) where we encountered 4xMIG-23s. Unfortunately all three of us were shot down after attempting to turn for homeplate.
